Post Bar Fellowship

The County of Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office offers a Post Bar Fellowship for recent law school graduates who have taken the California State Bar Exam and are awaiting results. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in prosecutorial work, observe court proceedings, and contribute to meaningful legal projects under the guidance of experienced attorneys. Fellows participate in a variety of legal assignments, including case preparation, legal research, and courtroom observation, providing invaluable insight into public sector law practice.

Program Details

  • Salary: $30.00 per hour
  • Duration: Two cohorts annually.
    - March through mid-May (for those who took the Bar in February)
    - August through mid-November (for those who took the Bar in July)  
  • Work Locations: Assigned by the District Attorney and subject to change based on workload demands

Eligibility: Must be a recent law school graduate, have taken the California Bar Exam, and be available for the fellowship period.
